Why it matters
Mina could have sung anything and did. Studio Uno catches her mid-sixties, backed by orchestras that seem to have been hired by a film producer rather than a record label. It is big, theatrical, faintly reckless singing — the sound of a nation that has just discovered the motorway and the espresso machine at once.
