Nylon-string guitar, a voice barely above speaking, and no wasted gesture anywhere.
Why it matters
Hardy went to Brazil for her arranger and came back with the quietest great record of the seventies. There is almost nothing in it — guitar, a little strings, that voice — and yet it fills a room completely. Elegance here is entirely a matter of what has been left out.
